For the fourth time in a row this year, Bajaj has hiked the price of the Dominar by a marginal amount

Believe it or not the prices of the Dominar 400 have been hiked once again by Bajaj this year. This is the fourth time in a row in 2018 that Bajaj Auto decided to hike the prices of their flagship offering in India. Both the variants of the Dominar have received a marginal price hike of Rs. 1,000 this time. The price now for the non-ABS variant is at Rs. 1.49 lakh while the price of the dual channel ABS variant is at Rs. 1.63 lakh.

The motorcycle received its last price hike of Rs. 2000 back in July 2018. The Dominar was priced at Rs.1.36 lakh for the non-ABS variant and Rs. 1.50 lakh for the ABS-equipped unit when it was initially launched in India almost two years ago.

The Dominar was initially a hit amongst the crowd for its powerful engine, and exclusive and never seen before features in this segment. However, it now sales around 1000 units a month which is not exactly a bad number either but still is nowhere near what Bajaj Auto quoted during the time of its launch. The Dominar is powered by a 373cc, four stroke-single cylinder unit which is capable of churning out about 35 Bhp of peak power and 35 Nm of torque The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Bajaj offers slipper clutch along with ABS as a rider aid with the motorcycle. For those of you who are unaware Bajaj is also working on the updated 2019 Dominar as well. We have already reported that the motorcycle was caught undisguised while it was being tested a couple of times.

The 2019 Dominar will benefit from some exclusive premium features like upside down front forks which are mostly found in premium motorcycles. Apart from all these, you can also expect it to get mild cosmetic updates in the form of a new exhaust can and paint schemes.  There is also a fair chance that Bajaj might discontinue the non-ABS variant completely from the Indian market when they introduce the updated variant.
