Mahindra commenced production of new XUV700 at its plant and it is expected to launch by mid-November, likely to be priced from Rs. 23.9 Lakh

Mahindra is going to introduce XUV700 on November 19th. We have already reported that the company has received CKD kits from SsangYong last month and production has begun at the plant. Our reader Sai Hulwale shared these images of XUV700 at the manufacturing plant waiting to be dispatched to dealers. The XUV700 will be the flagship product of the company in India and it is based on new generation SsangYong Rexton, which was introduced earlier this year in global markets.

The current generation Rexton didn’t sell well in India, which is why the company decided to re-brand the model. Mahindra didn’t make any major changes for the design as the front gets new chrome finished grille along with revised front and rear bumper to make it inline with other products in the portfolio. The overall design of the XUV 700 is appealing and the SUV comes with chrome lining on the window to give a premium feel.

The interior continues the premium design from the exterior as the dashboard has three different layers in which the top portion is black and the company has given wood finish in the middle. The lower part gets quilted brown leather finish and the seats also get this same leather. The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit and it gives lots of information for the driver.

The XUV700 is a proper seven-seater and we can expect good space in all three rows. The flagship SUV is loaded with features like touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, climate control, reverse camera with parking sensors, cruise control, sunroof, automatic headlamps and more.

The 2.2 L diesel engine produces 187 hp of power and 420 Nm of torque, the power is sent to all four wheels via 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic gearbox. The punchy engine will give a good performance as the XUV700 was recently spotted at highway doing 170+ and the SUV comes with lots of safety features like 9 airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control system and more.
