2020 Mini Clubman Cooper S introduced in India at Rs 41.90 lakh

– Powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 189bhp/280Nm

– Offers a wide range of customisation options to suit individual taste

Back in February, MINI had introduced the Clubman India Summer Red Edition at a starting price of Rs 44.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This time around, the British automotive marque has launched the 2020 MINI Clubman Cooper S in India at a starting price of Rs 41.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The moonwalk grey metallic colour is standard, while customers will have to spend additional Rs 63,000 for colour options such as British racing green, chilli red, melting silver, midnight black, pepper white, starlight blue, thunder grey, and white silver. The enigmatic black colour option is available for an additional cost of Rs 1.30 lakh.

Mechanically, the new MINI Clubman Cooper S is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 189bhp and 280Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a seven-speed double-clutch Steptronic transmission. The vehicle is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in 7.2 seconds. The Clubman Cooper S returns a fuel economy of 13.79 kmpl. In terms of safety, it gets front airbags, brake assist, crash sensor, ABS, runflat indicator, dynamic stability control, three-point seat belts, cornering brake control, and warning triangle with first-aid kit.

Customers can opt from body-coloured roof and mirror caps, black roof and mirror caps, and white roof and mirror caps. The new Clubman Cooper S can be had in either silver, vent spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels or black, net spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels. Some of the other standard feature highlights include LED headlights, LED fog lights, rear fog lights, rain sensors, white direction indicator lights, runflat tyres, and chrome-plated double exhaust tailpipe finisher. 

As for the interior, the new MINI Clubman Cooper S offers two interior surface colour options – grey checkered and piano black. The vehicle also offers electric seat adjustment in front with memory function for driver, automatic AC, MINI driving modes, Bluetooth hands-free, lights package, centre armrest, multifunction steering wheel, smokers package, sports seats, velour floor mats and storage compartment package.

Ford India launches doorstep service

– The doorstep service by Ford is offered at no additional cost

– The service has been launched in select regions

Ford India has introduced a doorstep service for owners who want to get their vehicle serviced at their home or office, at no additional charge. The service expands Ford’s range of initiatives launched under the Dial-a-Ford campaign where all sales and service queries are addressed via the helpline.

In its first phase, Ford India has launched the doorstep service in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Aurangabad, and Ahmedabad. Ford customers residing in the aforementioned cities can book the service by fixing an appointment with the nearest Ford dealership or via the Dial-A-Ford toll-free number.

The doorstep service by Ford includes essential vehicle check-ups, part replacements such as filters, oil replacement, and dry-washing among other activities covered under the scheduled service. The customer will have the flexibility to make online payments post the service. For concerns that may not get addressed on-the-spot, the technical team will take the vehicle to the nearest service centre. The service is offered to customers at no additional cost.

2020 All New Mahindra Thar bookings to open on 2 October

– The second-gen Mahindra Thar will be launched later this week

– The model will be available with two powertrain options and six colours

Mahindra will begin accepting bookings for the second generation Thar in India on 2 October. The company has also chosen the same date for the launch of the new-gen model later this week. The new Thar was unveiled on 15 August, 2020.

Last week, Mahindra announced that the first unit of the Thar will be auctioned to raise funds for the organisations supporting COVID-19 relief work, details of which are available here. The next-gen Thar will be offered in three body-styles that include soft-top, hard-top, and convertible-top. Customers will be able to choose from two trims and six colours, and you can read all about it here.

Under the hood of the all-new Mahindra Thar will be a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The latter will be capable of producing 130bhp and 300Nm of torque while the former produces 150bhp and 320Nm of torque. Feature-wise, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will come equipped with the signature multi-slat grille, circular headlamps, LED tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, roof-mounted speakers, cruise control, built-in roll cage, front seats with height and lumbar adjustment, as well as a new instrument cluster with a coloured TFT display.
